Friends:

Thanks so much for your interest in the Ben "Cooter" Jones for Congress campaign.  The campaign is off to a great start and pundits are beginning to recognize that this will be one of the closest campaigns in the country this year.   We have two different positions available, and we wanted to make sure that we were considering everyone for the position they had applied for.  The positions are:

1)  Campaign Staff Assistant- Housing provided (if needed) Five $800 a month stipends will be available, but since there are over 100 applicants will be very competitive.  Will be placed in two divisions of the campaign which include the field, fundraising, IT or special events divisions.  While everyone will work together the different divisions will have these primary responsibilities.



Field:  Planning and executing voter contact in a large area of the district.  Because this district is so different (rural, urban and suburban areas) the type of activities needed in each area will vary widely, and we will need you to plan and accomplish the activities in your area.
Fundraising:  Planning fundraising events and activities.  Will work directly with our finance director Sam Martin to accomplish the fundraising plan and help Ben Jones raise the money he needs to run a successful campaign.
IT:  Working with our technology to give all the aspects of the campaign the support they need to accomplish their activities as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Special Events:  Planning special events for the candidate and campaign, and working with the field department to plan activities for places we can reach voters.

 

2)  Campaign Intern- Housing provided (if needed).  Responsibilities will include assisting the different divisions of the campaign.  Interns will be given specific projects and will take on complete responsibility for them.  College credit is available if needed.  This position will be very helpful for building resumes and at the end of the campaign a reference will be available upon request from former (and future!) Congressman Ben Jones.
