Purpose
As required by the Constitution, the members of the Virginia Young Democrats assemble in annual Convention for the purpose of considering charter applications, resolutions, and constitutional amendments; electing officers; and conducting such other business as the Convention directs.

Location
On or before January 1 of each year, the Executive Committee determines the date and location of that year's annual Convention.

Committees
The convention committees perform much of the advance work of the business of the convention. The committees are:

• Awards
• Constitution and Bylaws
• Credentials
• Rules
• Resolutions

Except for the Credentials Committee, the President appoints the temporary chair of each committee, subject to the approval of the Executive Committee. The Secretary, or his or her designee, serves as the chair of the Credentials Committee. In addition to the chair, each committee is comprised of one appointee from each congressional district caucus chair. All committee meetings are open to all VYD members of the Virginia Young Democrats unless otherwise restricted by the Constitution.
